Kenten visits Santa at the Harley Shop!

Last weekend Kenten got to see Santa and tell him what he wanted for Christmas! This was the first year there was no hesitation. Kenten saw Santa, and could barely get his coat off before he ran up to Santa to tell him his wish list. It's a good thing there weren't any other children there because Kenten took a long time to talk to Santa. He told Santa he wanted a long cowboy gun (shotgun) and a robot. Grandma Faust came through with the long cowboy gun. We'll have to see if Santa brings the robot. Since Grandpa Tice got a Harley last fall, it has become our tradition to go to the Harley shop to see Santa. Plus, we get to watch Grandpa drool over all the new bikes and the chrome he wants for his bike.

Putting up the Christmas Tree

After the allergy problems of last year, we decided to go with a fake tree this year.  Here are a few pictures of the events!

Sono Pics

The radiologist said she just has her hand close to her mouth. She's not actually sucking her thumb.

You can't even begin to imagine the excitement we felt when the lady said, "It's a girl!"

It's a ....

We found out on Wednesday that our baby is a girl!! And they said it couldn't be done. Branden's family can go back several generations without any girls being born. Needless to say, we are very excited. Yes, we have a first name picked out. We will share her name later when we've decided on a middle name.

She is still due March 1. I am very glad about this. Maybe I will be able to finish state assessment tests with my students. Kenten's sono moved his due date up 11 days.

The lady that did our sono said everything looked fine to her. She said the baby weighs about 12 oz and is about 6.5 inches long from head to bottom. We go to the doctor on Wednesday to get the full report.

I'll post pictures when I can get them scanned.

Kenten is all boy!

We got to make our first injury related trip to the emergency room Sunday night. While waiting on us to come out to work in the yard, Kenten thought he would get a head start. He found the potato fork, small pitchfork with three tines, and began to dig. He managed to stab himself on the top of his left foot. Of course Branden had to run a quick errand, so I was home alone with him when this happened. We took Kenten to the ER thinking he would need stitches. After several hours of waiting, the doctor thought maybe he might have broken a bone and ordered X-Rays. Kenten did very well having "pictures" of his foot taken. Then we waited another hour or two for the doctor to come back and say it wasn't broken and he just wanted to put one stitch in so it would be a smaller scar. He didn't want to suture it completely because he was afraid of leaving debris in the wound. We discussed leaving it open, since we doubt he'll be a foot model, and we really didn't want to hold down an exhausted terrified little boy. He agreed to leaving it open as long as we understood it would seep a lot and have to keep it very clean. Finally around midnight we got to take our very tired little boy home.

Today, Kenten would not put his foot on the floor, so he crawled quite a bit. I'm not sure if he's really in that much pain or if he's just milking us for all we're worth. Pictures to come.

15 weeks (and a few days)

Not too much has changed since our last post.  I haven't had any nausea for a few weeks now.  Only in the last couple days have I been able to feel little flutters in my belly.  Kenten has become very interested in the baby.  A few days ago he got up from his nap, came running out to me, and asked if the baby had come out of my belly yet.  We keep telling him it won't be until after Christmas.  Hopefully that will keep him satisfied for a while.  I'm not sure what we will tell him after Christmas.
